Jyothy Kendriya Vidyalaya is a co-ed English medium school in Bangalore. It was established in 1989 by Sri. B.N.V Subrahmanya in memory of his daughter Jyothy. The school is affiliated to CBSE for 1st to 10th, and Karnataka PU board for 11th and 12th. Jyothy Kendriya Vidyalaya, located in Yelachenahalli, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore is run by the Jyothy Charitable Trust. This Trust is registered with the Commissioner of Income Tax, Karnataka-II under Section - 80 - G of the I.T. Act of exemption. The trust has undertaken a massive expansion of its activities. Maintaining a fund for providing scholarships to the meritorious students from the low income group is one of the activities amongst many. In addition, free books & uniform as well as fee concession will be given to the deserving students every year. == Origins == The school started with a modest strength of less than 100 students from 1st std. to 4th std. in 1990. The school campus was a two floor building in a medium-sized plot with a small playground. The vision of the school was to provide quality education and imbibe Indian culture among students.
